It has been discussed in this paper that penetrating the mathematical modeling thoughts and methods in higher mathematics teaching practice of science and engineering colleges,thus the higher math-ematics teaching reform has been promoted,the practical teaching characteristic has been highlighted and the teaching effectiveness have been enhanced. The importance of this exploring for developing the students’innovation ability and professional quality has been described.Also some recommendations and specific practices for teaching practice have been proposed.
