作为彝族文化的重要载体的彝族刺绣，是彝族先民聪明智慧和精湛技艺的结晶，它以图案和符号表现了彝族古老的神话、传说和历史，是对彝族文化的一种文化表述。如今色彩艳丽的彝族刺绣不仅越来越被广大民众所喜爱，近年来作为旅游商品出售的彝绣产品也吸引游客的目光，增加了楚雄的旅游收入。作为楚雄热门景点的彝人古镇，已经发展了“彝家公社”、“彝绣大观园”等四家刺绣专营店，加上市内大大小小的民族服饰刺绣专营店，在楚雄刺绣专营店已经发展到十几家，品种多达上千种，楚雄彝绣产业发展速度，前景广阔。

As an important vehicle of the Yi culture and the culmination of wisdom and technique of the Yi people,the Yi needle embroidery,with its patterns and symbols,is a cultural presentation of their myths,legends and history. Today,the colorful needlework is attracting an increasing population of admir-ers,both local and remote,generating revenues for the Yi people. Now several franchised stores of Yi em-broidery products are opened in Yi Ren Gu Zhen,or the Ancient Town of the Yi. These stores,together with many others in downtown Chuxiong,where thousands of embroidery handicrafts are available on the shelves,herald the bright prospects of Chuxiong’s needle embroidery industry.
