The arch dam of Jinping I Hydropower Station is the highest arch dam in the world, and is the most difficult in design and construction of high arch dam in China. Some key technology problems, including high slope construction with complex geological condition, selection and supply of concrete aggregate, rapid high-intensity concrete construction and temperature control and complex foundation treatment, are solved in the construction of dam. The successful construction of Jinping I project promotes the technological progress of high arch dam construction in China.
