In this paper, concentrated self-blast defects of glass insulators on the span of the 500 kV JiangJin, Jiangling line across the Yangtze river are analyzed, and it points out that spraying RTV, serious impurity and weather conditions are the main reasons for glass insulators concentrated self-blast, and also introduces the situation of the defect treatment.
