服务经济社会发展，既是高校统一战线践行科学发展观的客观需要，也是高校统战工作发挥作用的重要途径。本文阐述了高校统一战线服务经济社会发展的人才智力、民主政治、社会联系等主要优势，并分析高校统一战线战对象的多元化提高工作要求、统战工作与经济建设贴合还不够紧密和统战工作机制有待进一步健全等主要问题，最后提出加强高校统一战线服务经济社会发展的若干举措，加强思想引领，优化高校统战机制；利用资源优势，切实加大人才培养；积极参政议政，发挥建言献策作用；贴近民生诉求，统筹经济社会发展；搭建服务平台，持续拓展作为空间。
