The image segmentation methods and the research progress of graph cut in recent years are introduced in this paper.At first,image segmentation methods are classified into five typical types,and their characteristics are analyzed.Secondly,the concept of graph cut and three categories of graph cut, and applications and characteristics of each category are described in details.Finally,some directions of graph cut is presented.
