This paper, through the analysis of the data of fa- ults of water supply pipe network of a city in nearly ten years, established the equation between the water supply pipe and failure rate, and discovered that the failure rate is negatively correlated with the size of the pipe diameter. From the aspects of tube thickness, buried depth, pipe and other factors, the au- thor made an analysis of causes of pipe leakage accidents, and further explored the effect of various factors of pipe diameter on optimization design of water supply network.
