By comparing and analyzing the water turbidity obtained from the OBS and the sediment concentration achieved by the conventional method in the Sanshui, Makou and Ganggen hydrological stations, the relationship between water turbidity and sediment concentration is disclosed;furthermore, the prospect of applying the OBS to the analysis of sediment concentration in the Pearl River Delta is discussed.
