The main technical routes for large-scale industrial hydrogen production in the refinery were introduced, and an economic comparison between the two hydrogen production processes which used coal and natural gas as feedstock, respectively, was made. It was considered that the development of producing hydrogen from coal would be necessary and important at the present in China, and some solutions were proposed to solve the great emission of carbon dioxide from coal to hydrogen.
