The research progresses in the reaction of decomposition of hydrogen sulfide to hydrogen and sulfur were summarized, including reaction principles and various methods for decomposition of hydrogen sulfide, such as high-temperature thermolysis, catalytic thermolysis, superadiabatic thermolysis, electrochemical technology, microwave decomposition, plasma technology and photocatalytic decomposition. The advantages and disadvantages of each method were discussed and the development trends were prospected.
