The progress of research on the chemical components and pharmaceutical action of Lantana camara L. was reviewed. The chemical components in Lantana camara L. were divided into two groups, the volatile groups and the non- volatile groups. The volatile groups rich in terpenes, and pentacyclic triterpenes was the highest. According to the research, Lantana camara L. was proved to have antibiotic, antivirus, antitumor as well as good effects of sedative and analgesic, which had abundant plants resources. Lantana camara L. have broad prospects of development and application.
