专利质量提升是创新能力提高的集中表现。沿江八市的专利总量和专利质量在全省处于相当重要的地位。而苏中通泰扬三市与苏南的苏锡常镇宁在发明专利的授权和拥有方面还有一定差距。而就技术创新对经济发展的推动作用来说，苏中地区专利技术创新与苏南相比滞后于经济发展，应对技术创新苏中地区应更加技术创新和专利质量提升。

Promoting qualities of patents indicate the improving of innovation capability .The quantities and qualities of the patents of the eight cities which locating along the Yangtze are in a very important position among the whole province. Yet, when referring to authorizations and quantities of patents, Nantong, Yangzhou, Taizhou, this three cities locating in middle Jiangsu are inferior to Suzhou, Wuxi, Nanjing, Changzhou, Zhenjiang, which are all locating in southern Jiangsu. As talking about the impetus to economics development due to technological innovation, patent technology innovations belong to central region of Jiangsu lag behind economics development in the districts of southern Jiangsu. The area of middle Jiangsu should pay more attention to technology innovations and promoting quantity of patents to improve technological innovation.
