任弼时的党建思想大约经历了萌芽、形成及成熟三个阶段。总体来说，他的党建思想具有把握全局、立足实际、系统性强三个特点，对当代的重要价值体现在：重视党在思想上对全局的领导，无产阶级政党必须强化作风建设，必须强化树立共产主义理想信念。
