In order to produce the high standard diesel oil, the quality upgrading of diesel has been accelerated by oil refining plants in China. In this paper, the distribution laws of sulfur compounds in straight run diesel oil, coker diesel oil and catalytic diesel oil were summarized, the desulfurization mechanism of thiophenic compounds was introduced, the research progress of the diesel oil hydrogenation catalyst at home and aboard was reviewed, and the production advice of the high standard diesel oil was proposed.
