The folding plugging head is the key equipment to plugging technology. In this paper, the basic principle of plugging technology with pressure conveying for the pipeline was summarized, advantages of the folded plugging technology and its main application fields were expounded, and the structural composition and working principle of the folding plugging head were introduced in detail. Through field plugging tests of DN 720 and DN529 pipes, the feasibility of folding plugging head was verified, and the plugging pressure was determined.
