The article firstly introduced the current status of medicare and related policies in Beijing and three aspects were introduced, including the number of insured, the changes in income and expenditure of the basic medical insurance fund, and the medical security level and policy evolution. Then the status of medical assistance in Beijing was introduced, including the medical assistance from civil affairs department, the Red Cross and charity association. In recent years, the policies of medical insurance and social assistance in Beijing are proved effective, but there are still some problems and challenges, which need to be further improved and resolved.
