The client/server structure including system components and control function design developed for the process automation level computer system applied in the 1700 continuous hot rolling production line in Chaoyang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. of Ansteel Group Corporation is introduced. Based on the laminar cooling model set-up timing sequence, calculation method for temperature prediction, and control mode, the applied situation of the mathematic model for the 1700 hot continuous rolling production line is presented. The system owns such characteristics as high control precision, easy maintenance and good openness. The system works stably after putting into operation and all its functions meet the design requirements.
