T he factors affecting ε-shaped steel damper was analyzed. T he design formula of ε-shaped steel damper was proposed to predict its performance rapidly. T he design formula of ε-shaped steel damper is validated by simulation and performance test. T he formula to design the ε-shaped steel damper may be conveniently used for design.
