The reasonableness of choosing the parameters for the groove type spray suppressor have a direct influence on the effect of suppressing spray. Through a comparative test for two hull models of different width of groove type spray suppressor in towing tank, compared the spray envelops of two models at the same conditions, and analyzed the effect of the width of groove type spray suppressor on spray characteristics, which showed reducing the width of groove type spray suppressor will make the spray height at the propellers increase by 19% or more, and the spray height at the lfaps reduced by 54%.
