《文心雕龙》共五十篇，自《神思》至《总术》十九篇着重讨论了写作的构思、风格、结构、修辞等问题。刘勰将《神思》称为“驭文之首术，谋篇之大端”，列置全书“下编”创作论的开始，由此见出该篇的纲领性质。《神思》篇历来备受瞩目，总体讲，研究主要集中在对“神思”与“灵感”之关联，与“物”之关联，与“想象”之关联，与“虚静”之关联，与“写作主体素养”之关联的探索；对“神思”篇辨疑、考释；对“神思”篇美学意蕴的开掘；对“神思”篇于《文赋》的继承与发展关系作阐扬等方面。本文将众家研究成果一一梳理、分析，以期全方位把握《神思》涉及的相关内容，为研究者提供丰富参阅资料。

Dragon -Carving and the Literary Mind consists of fifty chapters,of which nineteen chapters mainly deal with writing’s imagination,styles,structures and rhetoric.The book’s author,Liu Xie, counts Imagination very important to a writing,so he places the essay on the imagination of writing in the first chapter of Book II to talk about literary creation.In his point of view,it is “the foremost art of writ-ing and a main feature of composition”.Thus we can see why imagination plays a leading role in writing. The essay on the imagination of writing,which is ever and now held highly by many researchers,mainly discussed the relationship between imagination and inspiration,imagination and the natural world,imagi-nation and tranquility,and imagination and writer’s personal qualities.Meanwhile,some other aspects concerning the questioning of the essay,its annotations,its contribution to esthetic development and its inheritance and development from the essay on The Art of Writing by Lu Ji are also covered among them. This paper is prepared to offer a clear view of the researches referring to the essay on Imagination and pro-vide future researchers with plenty of materials for understanding the essay in its full range.
