在老龄化、快速城镇化的复杂社会背景下，广场舞在全民健身热潮中脱颖而出，成为具有中国特色的文化景观。广场舞是时代的产物，是广场文化的代表，逐步发展成不可忽视的社会文化现象。文章以广场舞的兴起为切入点，从社会学角度进行深入剖析，研究表明：政府对公共产品的投入，全民健身的良好社会氛围是广场舞发展的基石；老龄化和城镇化的社会背景为其发展推波助澜；生产和生活方式的改变，现代文明病的侵袭是其发展的动力源；场地弱供给，健身及社交强需求是其发展的催化剂；新兴媒体优化广场舞的传播环境，提供资源共享平台。厘清广场舞风靡的原因，为广场舞的治理及可持续发展提供理论依据。

In the complex social bac kground of aging and rapid urbanization, square dance in fitness craze emerged as the cultural landscape with Chinese characteristics. Square dance is a product of the times, the representative of square culture, and gradually develops into a social and cultural phenomenon that can-not be ignored. Taking the rise of the square dance as a starting point for in-depth analysis from a sociologi-cal point of view, this paper shows that government’s investment in public goods, fitness social atmosphere are the cornerstone of square dance; square dance development, aging and urbanization, social background fuels its development;changes in production and lifestyle diseases of modern civilization invasion is the pow-er source of its development; weak supply of venues, health and social needs is a strong catalyst for its de-velopment;emerging media optimization of square dance propagation environment, provides resource sharing platform. Square Dance becoming fashionable clarifies the reasons and provides a theoretical basis for gover-nance and sustainable development of the square dance.
