This paper is concerned with the current work,special reports and papers on the distribution system and distributed generation of the study committee SC6 of CIGRE 2014.This paper presents the new development of distribution system and distributed generation technology,in relation to distribution system planning with high penetration of distributed generators and new load,operation and control of the active distribution system as well as the new role of distribution system in transmission system operation.Finally,an analysis is made of the development trend of active distribution system and the technical issues of major concern.
