Ban Xia is a contemporary native female writer in Yunnan and her works reflect the independent subject consciousness of contemporary women by describing their lives.The features of her novels could be summed up in some words such as city life, fashion and obsession to accessories and consumer goods, which are not only closely related to her mental structure, but also are the phenomena of consumer culture since the 1990s.
