越战老兵蒂姆·奥布莱恩在其小说集《士兵的重负》中延续了创伤的主题，形象地再现了越战老兵的战争创伤。虽然越战已经远去，但奥布莱恩一直在以不同方式书写着越战创伤。通过不断重写创伤之源、描写回国老兵的苦楚以及想象性写作，奥布莱恩实现了讲故事的疗伤效果，并试图通过写作走出战争创伤的阴影。

In his collection of short stories The Things They Carried , Tim O'Brien continues to represent the theme of trauma and depicts vividly the wounds of those Vietnam veterans .Although the Vietnam War has been over long ago , O'Brien keeps writing it from different perspectives .By constantly rewriting the origin of trauma , describing the suffering of the veterans and creating imag-inative story, O'Brien achieves the therapeutic effect of telling stories , trying to get out of the shadow of war trauma through writing .
