The EH - 4 electromagnetic imaging system has great exploration depth, light efficiency, reflect the results of visual features. It was widely used in searching for groundwater and hydrogeological aspects. To help an acute shortage of water in Pingan county of qinghai province southern mountains looking for groundwater, select the profile EH - 4 electromagnetic system detection, by determining the area within the concealed fault location and fault fracture zone, the article carries out to construct water. The practice shows the EH - 4 electromagnetic imaging system is strongly penetrating without influence of shallow high re-sistance layer under comparation with other electromagnetic methods and it has strong applicability and high efficiency.
