In this paper, the developmental demands of current Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) are introduced, while various passive optical networks (PON) which could be served as FMC bearer network are analyzed. The system framework and principle of EPON/GPON and WDM-PON are expounded, respectively. Their features and technological advantages are illustrated with the conclusion that WDM-PON is the development tendency of FMC in the future.
