Based on daily average temperatures from August to September during 1951 to 2010 in Xinyang city, with the continuous three days daily average temperature not lower than 20 degrees as the indice of temperatures for the safe full heading dates of japonica rice in south of Henan Province, the 80% guarantee rate for the safe full heading dates of japonica rice in south of Henan Province was determined at September 6th. By using the method of interval sowing experiments, the changes of growth period, yield and yield structure of testing varieties were analyzed, the safe full heading dates and optimum sowing dates of the testing varieties were deter-mined.
