在过去的几十年时间里，身份问题已经成为当代政治、文化以及族群研究的一个重要课题。Identity既是身份，又是认同，犹如硬币的两面，外显为身份，内显为认同。经过深入访谈和研究发现，传承人柯愈勄行走在艺术与遗产之间，交织在民间艺人、传承人和艺术家三重身份的维度之中。在这多重身份纠葛的背后映射出我国艺术评价制度和传承人制度之间的一个错位问题，艺术家的“精英性”与民间艺人的“民间性”成为摆在传承人面前的鸿沟，而传承人制度并没有成为跨越这一鸿沟的契机。
