作为南宗第五祖的白玉蟾,在长期的云游修道生涯中,他将自身修炼与审视秀丽的山川结合起来,体验自己内心神秘的道教审美感受。这种感受蕴涵着丰富的道教美学思想,涉及道教审美人格理想、审美心理、自然审美论、道教伦理美学和道教文艺美学等方面。他将道家的这种主观性与其宗教目标相结合,形成了一整套以“求道”为乐的美感判断准则。以求道成仙为乐,在乐中获得审美体验,白玉蟾正是这种强调主观美感论的倡导者。白玉蟾的美学思想成就使其成为宋代道教美学的大家,代表了宋代道教美学思想的高峰。

As the fifth ancestor of the Chan sect, in his long life of wander and practicing, Bai Yuchan combined his practicing with the survey of the beautiful landscape to experience his inward mysterious feel of the appreciation of the beauty of the Taoism. This feel contained plentiful aesthetic ideology of the Taoism consisting of Taoist aesthetic personality ideal, the aesthetic psy-chology, the natural aesthetics, the Taoist ethic aesthetics and the Taoist aesthetics of literature and art. He combined the subjec-tivity of Taoism with the religious goals to a whole set of judgment criterion of the pleasure of the Tao. In order to obtain the plea-sure of the immortal, to get the aesthetic experience in the Taoism, Bai Yuchan was the advocate of the subjective aesthetic theo-ry. The achievement of Bai Yuchan’s aesthetic thoughts made it become master of the Song dynasty Taoist aesthetics, on behalf of the peak of the Song dynasty Taoist aesthetics.
