Guided by the learning theory of constructivism,the passage expounds in detail the content,the nature and charac-teristics of Harkness teaching method and reveals the advantages and disadvantages of Harkness teaching method and traditional teaching methods as well as explores the functions of Harkness teaching method in addition to the correspondence of the goals to higher vocational English teaching.
