随着社会不断发展进步，现代社会是由多元文化的形成的，在文化与教育高度重视的今天使得多元文化教育全面开展。英语是学生认识、了解社会的重要途径之一，同时也是教师进行多元文化教育的主要途径。目前我国英语教学中依然存在一些误区，这不利于当代复合型人才的培养及其素质的提高。根据联合国教科文组织《世界文化多样性宣言》和《世界高等教育宣言》对多元化和多样性文化的分析，以及文化与语言的密切联系，详细阐述了多元文化教育下英语文化教学的基本理论。

With the continuous development and progress of society,the modern society is formed by the multi-culture,and it makes the multicultural education developing.English is one of the important ways for the students to understand society,and at the same time the major route of multicultural education.At present,there are still some misunderstanding of English Teach-ing in China,which is not conducive to the cultivation of compound talents and improving their quality.According to the analy-sis of diversification and cultural diversity from "World Cultural Diversity Declaration"and "World higher education Declara-tion"of UNESCO,and the relationship between language and culture,this paper expounds the basic theory of English culture teaching in multicultural education.
