This paper points out the importance of interest of learning in practical training in the courses of higher vocational education ( HVE for short) . A series of reforms in the practical training in the course of Engineering CAD has been carried out and a survey on students′ learning interest aimed at those reforms has been conducted. Relationship between learning interest and learning engagement has also been analyzed. Strategies of arousing students′ learning interest which are consistent with the characteristics of HVE are explored into.
