RF equipment, including antenna and transceiver, is an important part of a satellite communications earth station. It determines the performance of a communication link. To guarantee good communication quality, reliability and electromagnetic compatibility, strict regulations for RF equipment are made, and a complete set of technical performance speciifcations is constructed. In this series of lectures, we will explain deifnitions and content of these technical speciifcations, and give examples in practical applications.
