将三聚氰胺与氰尿酸分别在熔融己内酰胺介质中反应,在反应过程中加入正硅酸乙酯和少量水,合成SiO2改性三聚氰胺氰尿酸盐( MCA)。为进一步对比,同时进行了以水为反应介质的MCA改性实验。研究表明:正硅酸乙酯在熔融己内酰胺介质中可以水解,水解后的SiO2溶胶可以对MCA实行表面改性。在不调整pH值,水解时间为4 h,SiO2溶胶添加量为MCA的10%时改性效果最佳。改性后的MCA比未改性MCA粒径小,热分解温度高且分解时间长,有利于其在聚合物基体中阻燃作用的发挥和聚合物复合材料机械性能的改善。

Silica modified melamine cyanurate ( MCA ) was synthesized by making melamine ( MA ) and cyanuric acid ( CA) react in molten caprolactam medium, with tetraethyl orthosilicate( TEOS) and small amount of water added during the reaction. Then, MCA modification test with water as reaction medium was made for further comparison. The results showed that TEOS can be hydrolyzed in molten caprolactam and the surface of MCA can be modified by hydrolyzed silica sol. An optimum modification effect can be achieved without changing pH, with reaction time of 4 hrs and silica dosage of 10% of MCA. Compared with the unmodified MCA, the modified MCA has smaller grain size, higher thermal decomposition temperature and longer decomposition time, which would be helpful for enhancing the flame retardant properties and mechanical properties of polymer composites.
