Most universities in transformation and development face the problems of how to inspire the studying interests of students majored in engineering and improve the professional practical ability to increase their employment. Open-ended project-based method was a new kind of teaching method, this article introduces how to apply the method to the training course of Materials Science & Engineering major, and some problems should be taken into account.
