Surface-enhanced Raman scattering spectroscopy(SERS) is an effective means of studying molecular adsorption and interface phenomenon. It promotes the extensive development of the application of Raman scattering technology. The mechanism of SERS mainly includes chemical enhancement and electromagnetic enhancement. Solid active substrate is the important part of SERS technology. The development of solid active substrate in aqueous system and nonaqueous system and its applications in quantitative analysis were described. The huge potential of SERS solid active substrate in nonaqueous system was also indicated.
