会昌断裂,是邵武―河源断裂带的组成部分,呈一向东弯曲的弧形,全长约90km,总体向东、东南或北东倾斜,倾角中等到小,构成会昌红盆的西界。由于存在断层三角面,见张性构造角砾岩,温泉、地裂缝沿断裂两侧分布,表明该断裂是挽近时期活动的新构造。会昌断裂的正断作用,使其东侧的红层掀斜下陷,形成会昌箕状红盆,红盆底下的铀矿得以保存,因此会昌红盆具有重要的攻深找肓意义。

Huichang fracture,as a component of Shaowu-Heyuan fracture belt,is an arcuate fracture protru-ding westward which constitutes the west boundary of Huichang red basin.The fracture is about 90km long, and generally tilts towards east,southeast or northeast with a medium to small dip angle.It is demonstrated by the existence of fault triangular facet and the occurrence of extensional tectonic breccia and the distribution of hot springs and ground fissures along the fracture that the fracture belongs to neotectonics of Neoid sys-tem.The red bed which is on the east side of the fracture is tip-tilted and subsided under the influence of the normal faulting of Huichang fracture and forms Huichang half graben-like red basin under which uranium ores are preserved.Therefore,Huichang red basin is greatly significant to prospecting of ore-bodies at deep level and blind ore-bodies.
