在词语并不发达的春秋时期，老子用否定性的方法对无限进行了解读，主要涉及道的无限性、时空的无限性以及人的有限性与无限性，并且就人如何能够实现自身思想境界、人生意义等的无限性以及天人合一中体证道的无限性两方面进行了系统的诠释。老子的无限观念深深地嵌在其五千言的《道德经》中，并多层面地给予无限以描述，对于之后中国哲学以及后人无限观念的发展具有重要的意义。

Words are underdeveloped in the Spring and Autumn Period, and Lao-Tzu used the negative approach to interpreted the infiniteness of Tao, the infinity related to time and space, the finite and infinite nature of people. He tried to explore how to achieve the infinity of man's own ideological level, the meaning of life, and the two aspects of infiniteness that are proved in the theory that man is an integral part of nature. The concepts of infiniteness were deeply embedded in Lao-Tzu's five-thousand-word work"Tao Te Ching", which describes the infiniteness multi-dimensionally. It's of great significance for the development of Chinese philosophy and scholars' idea of infiniteness.
