This article introduces the fabricating methods of the insulating base and the needle-plate discharge model in epoxy electrical tree experiment,and analyses the influence of air gap on electrical tree experiment. Combining with the experiment result,the failure mechanism of air gap on insulation properties of epoxy resin material is expounded.
