A tripping shutdown accident due to the inter-turn protection action in generator stator occurred in the No.2 generator unit in a hydropower station.Based on the monitoring data, the tripping accident is caused by the burnout of soft connection in lower branch of the phase B outgoing line from the stator neutral point.Possible reasons of the connec-tion burnout is analyzed and some improvement suggestions are proposed.
