A hydraulic model test of the Kaleta stepped overflow dam is carried out, in which the flow pattern, aeration characteristics, water pressure distribution on the dam surface and the energy dissipation ratio of the steps are studied and analyzed systematically.The major impact factors of different hydraulic parameters and their variations are dis-cussed.The study provides a useful reference for the design of stepped dissipater.
