The application of carbon fiber reinforced metal matrix is introduced. the significance of carbon fiber with nickel plating is illustrated. several common methods of surface pretreatment of carbon fiber are summarized. several methods such as the chemical plating,electroplating, sol-gel method, composite plating, chemical vapor deposition and the advantages and disadvantages of these methods are analyzed and compared.
