Carbon nanotubes have very high application potential in nanoelectronic devices, hydrogen storage and sensors because of perfect 1 D nano-space and excellent physical and chemical properties. In this paper, several major preparation methods of carbon nanotubes were introduced, such as arc discharge, chemical vapor deposition, laser evaporation method, template method. Research progress in the preparation methods were discussed, which could provide certain reference for researchers.
