This study covers the hydrochemical types and spatial-temporal variations of 23 groundwater monito-ring sites in Honghuagang district and Huichuan district in Zunyi during 2010-2012 (dry seasons).SPSS soft-ware is adopted for the statistical analysis of the test of water quality, and AquaChem software for hydrochemical type analysis.Besides, sanitary standard for drinking water (GB 5749-2006)and synthetic index method are adopted to assess the water quality and variations. The results indicate that (1 )The principal hydrochemical types of groundwater in Honghuagang district and Huichuan district are Ca-HCO3 ,Ca-SO4 ,Ca-Cl and Na-Cl. (2 )Temporal variation does not have a significant impact on the variability of hydrochemical types. (3)95.65% groundwater in the monitoring sites is up to the GBI standard, and the rest is GBII,reflecting a good overall water quality.(4)The quality of 17.4% groundwater in the monitoring sites gradually degraded from 2010 to 2012.The research may serve as an important practical reference for local economic development and rational utilization of groundwater resources.
