Remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) refers to an endogenous therapeutic strategy, including remote ischemic preconditioning and remote ischemic postconditioning, which has a promising prospect in clinical application. And it has the advantages of security、none-invasive、convenience and economical. More research confirmed that RIC have protective effect on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, cardiovascular surgery and organ transplant surgery. In this article, we briefly review the history of the neuroprotective effect of remote ischemic conditioning in cerebrovascular disease.
