利用2008—2013年属于重污染行业的539家上市公司的面板数据实证分析市场竞争与企业绿色创新之间的关系。结果显示，市场竞争与企业绿色创新之间呈倒“U”型关系。进一步的分析表明，当赫芬达尔—赫希曼指数为27．78%或民营企业主营业务收入占比为47．56%时，企业的绿色创新水平达到峰值；在中国，使用赫芬达尔—赫希曼指数和民营企业主营业务收入占比衡量市场竞争比使用行业利润率更合理。

By using 539 A-share listed companies in heavily polluting industries from 2008—2013, this study examines the rela-tionship between market competition and green innovation. Major conclusions are as follows:There is a reverse U-shaped relationship between competition of product market and firm green innovation. Firm green innovation reaches its peak when herfindahl-hirschman in-dex is 27. 78% or prime operating revenue ratio of private companies is 47. 56 %. It is more proper to use herfindahl-hirschman index and prime operating revenue ratio of private companies than industry profit rate to measure market competition in China.
