元好问碑铭文具有重要的文学价值，无论是结构布局、描摹人物，还是记叙事件都有突出造诣。其结构布局严谨而又多姿，元好问既遵循传统笔法，又能打破常规、依人据事而灵活调整达到最佳效果。描摹人物上，元好问采用人物对话、互见和品评议论的方式将人物刻画得活灵活现、惟妙惟肖。记叙事件上，元好问以其平实的叙事态度间杂以传奇的叙事手法、高明的选材方法把碑铭文写得真实具体、妙趣横生。

Yuan Haowen's Epitaphs have great literature value, arranging the layout, depicting the characters and recording events are the most outstanding attainment of his epitaphs. The structure layout is rigorous and diversification. Not only Yuan does Haowen follow the traditional writing techniques, but also he can break away from conventions to achieve the best effect owing to his flexible adjustment. As to depicting the characters, he describes the character image vivid and lifelike through using dialogue, expressing comment and comfirming characters or events mutually.As for recording events, Yuan Haowen combines plain narrative attitude, the legendary narrative, with superb material selection method, which makes his epitaph real, concrete and interesting.
