This paper introduces the condition of ammonia unit before purified gas from liquid nitrogen wash section is offspec. After taking the meas-ure of adopting nitrogen to startup H2/N2 compressor for internal circulation in advance and realizing interval-free switch over after the purified gas from liquid nitrogen wash section reach the standard, the results show that the startup time is shortened by about 2 hours and 160 000 m3 purified gas vented to the air is reduced, which greatly cuts down the startup cost.
