近年来，广州大力推进文化建设，在打造岭南文化中心、培育世界文化名城方面取得了显著成效：公共文化服务体系不断完善；文化产品生产能力不断提高；文化遗产保护力度不断加大；文化创意产业蓬勃发展。虽然广州的文化建设取得了显著成效，但文化生产力总体水平仍然不够高，城乡之间文化服务供给不平衡，文化产品的数量和质量离世界文化名城的目标还有较大的差距。为此，要采取有效措施，弘扬岭南优秀传统文化，大力发展文化事业和文化产业，进一步提升广州文化软实力、打造岭南文化中心，努力实现培育世界文化名城的目标。

Guangzhou has put lots of effort in the cultural construction in recent years and has made great achievement in many fields, such as "Lingnan cultural center" and making Guangzhou a famous cultural city in the world, etc. The system of public cultural service has been perfected;the ability of producing cultural product has been improved;cultural heritage has received much more protection than before;and the cultural innovation industry has boomed everywhere. Although Guangzhou has made much progress in the cultural construction part, the overall cultural productivity is still relatively low. There is still some difference between the cultural services of city and town. The quantity and quality of cultural product has not reached the target of a worldwide famous cultural city. Therefore, it is very necessary to take some effective measures to develop the outstanding traditional Lingnan culture and the cultural business in order to promote the soft cultural power of Guangzhou and build Lingnan culture center so as to realize the goal of making of a worldwide famous cultural city of Guangzhou.
