Lithium sulfur battery is expected to become one of the research focuses of the new lithium battery due to its high specific energy, low cost and environmental friendly. The development status of cathode materials for lithium sulfur battery was reviewed. The effects of the electrolyte and binder on the electrochemical performance of lithium-sulfur batteries were introduced. The effect factors on the cycle performance of lithium sulfur battery were analyzed. The further tendencies of lithium sulfur battery were also represented.
